Posted by markblake 9 month(s) ago

his October, Minneapolis will host the 40th annual National Women’s Business Conference, organized by the National Association for Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

The opportunity to host the conference has been “something we’ve wanted badly,” Buffie Blesi, executive director at NAWBO-Minnesota, said in a press release. NAWBO's Minnesota chapter is currently made up of over 130 women-owned businesses and its membership grew by over 25% in the past year.
The conference will run from Oct. 15 through 17 at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency and will include business-building workshops and networking events. Author of “Eat, Pray, Love” Elizabeth Gilbert and senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations Gayle Tzemach Lemmon will be featured as keynote speakers. An exhibit hall in the Hyatt Regency will highlight Minnesota companies for the duration of the conference.

Board President of NAWBO-Minnesota Mary Quist-Newins described the conference as one of her favorites.

"There's something special about women businesses owners," she said. "When you get hundreds together at a conference, it's just such an amazing vibe, I can't even describe it."
